Biography
Corrinne Calhoun is a graduate of the University of Alabama who received her Bachelor of Arts, with a major in dance and a minor in theatre. She started dancing at the age of 2 training throughout the years in many styles including Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, Tap and more. She had the opportunity to work with several different choreographers throughout the years such as Marinda Davis, Jaci Royal, Tabitha and Napoleon D'umo, Julianne Hough, Matt Steffanina, Tyce Diorio, Debbie Allen, Mandy Moore, Mia Michaels, Leslie Scott, Cornelius Carter, and Keri LeGrand. She spent 15-plus years as a competitive dancer as well as over three years with a junior cirque company, Le Petite Cirque. She traveled the world showcasing her dance, contortion, hand balancing, and foot archery skills. With this company, Corrinne performed around the US and internationally in Montreal, Dubai, and Norway for the Nobel Peace Prize Concert with the king and queen of Norway present. She has also worked with The Silhouettes (America’s Got Talent Finalists) performing shows in Colorado and Kansas. She helped organize a volunteer group to develop a dance program for the residents of a central Mexico orphanage. This culminated in a show performed by all the children. Corrinne’s work has also included her performance at multiple International Children’s Festivals on the Mall in Washington, DC. In her most recent years, she has performed in several shows produced by the University of Alabama such as Alabama Repertory Dance Theatre, Dance Collection, Dance Alabama Film Festival, and Dance Alabama! She has also worked on the technical side of shows designing lights, as well as stage managing these collegiate-level shows.
